What is MJT Endeavors? It’s my (Michael J Threlkeld) business platform to do whatever I want. This is my second company, and the last one was a 5+ year success even after the economy crashed +/- 20 years ago. I have several passions that have nothing to do with each other on the surface, but they do on a deeper level: Music, outdoors/fishing, and general business networking and marketing. I also do software development and have worked for a lot of attorneys and big and small companies. I’m a little burnt out on development, so I quit my job a year ago and started this company. Last year was a bit rough. I lost about 4 months due to health issues, but I’m trying to make a comeback.

Yes, I know. My web site sucks for now, but I had to put something up here. It will get better, as will my company. Right now, this is my primary focus:

1) Build a network of music industry professionals.

2) Create my record label.

3) Sign and promote new talent.

4) Book tours and sell songs/albums for artists on my label.

5) Sell your contract to major labels when you get famous, but only if you want. If you’re making bank, I’ll keep you forever if you want.

My motivation is pure. I need to make a few bucks, but I’m not greedy. Your success is my success, and I sincerely want my artists to be more successful than me. I think the major labels forgot that you are the fresh butter on their stale bread.

I was a guitar player. I picked up a line from a drummer I know. I asked, “are you a drummer?” He said, “I have drums.” Well, I have guitars. Two reasons I say that: 1) Don’t be a modest star. 2) Don’t get a big head. I have a few friends that did the NY/LA thing, and the major labels chewed them up and spit them out. That creates “band drama” and the whole thing falls apart. Now, some play in cover bands, some play in tribute bands, some do acoustic sets for cash, some are studio musicians, and some went on clawing and climbing to be legit major rock stars (I’m not name dropping yet without permission).

Personally, I like Emo, old school Metal, Punk, Blues, and Rock, but I don’t care what your genre is or if you don’t have a genre at all. I work with pop, gospel, and rap artists which I’m not a fan of. I’m not a big fan of Snoop, Dylan, Bonnie Raitt, Flav, Elvis Costello, or Aretha Franklin, but I’ve seen them all. When they walk on stage, they are bigger than life. If you have a good sound, stage presence, can sell records, and show up consistently without killing each other, I’ll sign and promote you. But it’s going to be a few months before this company gels. Be patient. My health is still questionable, and I don’t have the energy I once did, but I’ll make you famous if I can.

Who I need (not full-time jobs, just on a case-by-case basis):

· Talented musicians, vocalists, and songwriters

· Live and studio sound techs, engineers, producers, and equipment/transportation suppliers

· A & R managers

· Booking agents

We will provide links and access to any unsigned or indie label artist’s material at no cost (subject to change).
